Gilbert & George,

1974.

While looking through a special collection of archived books, I discovered this Artists’ Book by Gilbert & George. The justified type that creates a perfect rectangle of text is very self-reflexive to the the way the book is made. You can clearly see the margins and gutters that the pages design is intended to have. Not only that but the leading spreads the text out turning the words into what looks more like shapes as they have been given space to breath.

To coincide with the words the images are discribtive of there story, of which is very pecular and yet somewhat poetic.
